A motorcycle rider and a pedestrian’s lives ended tragically during the weekend after a collision in the Cape Town suburb of Plumbstead.
Cape Argus reports that Lebohang “Fish” Matease’s Honda 919 CBR superbike collided with Kenyan national, known only as Ben on Saturday in Plumbstead mainroad.
Pieces of Matease’s motorcycle were scattered across the road the following day.
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk told Cape Argus that Matease, 30, was an officer at the Steenberg police station and was off duty at the time of the incident [02:30am].
Both men died at the scene and a culpable homicide case has been open, according to the report.
Matease was a member of the Khayelitsha’s Kasi-Riders Mcc and was heading to Plumbstead after a biker’s event.
